Volunteer

From helping in clinical areas to comforting families in times of need, there is a place and pace for all ages of volunteers at Carle. All volunteers are subject to immunization requirements and a background check. Court mandated community service is not permitted through our volunteer programs.

Volunteerism at Carle continues to grow and adapt to meet the needs of the organization. At this time, volunteers are urgently needed to fill the following roles:

Carle Ambassadors
From information desk helpers and wayfinding assistants to entryway greeters and patient escorts, our volunteer ambassadors are oftentimes the first friendly faces our patients and visitors encounter while at Carle.

Carle Auxiliary Gift Shops
With three locations - Carle Foundation Hospital, Carle Champaign on Curtis and Carle at The Fields - volunteers at the Carle Auxiliary Gift Shops help meet the retail needs of our patients, visitors and staff. Proceeds from the gift shops benefit the Carle Auxiliary Guest House.

Carle Auxiliary Guest House
This home away from home for families of our most critical patients relies on volunteers to serve in a hospitality role by preparing guest rooms, making guests comfortable and keeping the house tidy.

Caring Presence
This program helps ensure that no one passes away alone. Volunteers spend time in two-hour shifts with patients who are in their final hours and don’t have family or friends to be at their side.

Apply today, and be sure to note the name of the area you're interested in serving.
