Carle Health brings together healthcare professionals to address today’s health challenges with world-class innovation and care in Central Illinois. That’s possible through idea-sharing, making community connections and continuing education.
A long-running continuing education conference happens 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 2.
Foundation Day 2023, presented by Carle Health, will be at the I Hotel and Illinois Conference Center, 1900 S. First St., Champaign.
The annual conference, first presented in 1956, is open to the public and offers healthcare professionals from throughout Central Illinois a unique educational experience, Danielle Lawler, MSN, Carle Health continuing education coordinator and Foundation Day lead planner, said. Most of the participants work for Carle Health, the leading healthcare system in the region.
The conference is diverse and inclusive, with presenters, exhibitors and attendees representing the clinical, insurance, research, business and personal sides of healthcare.
“It’s multidisciplinary, for any healthcare professional from Carle and from throughout our communities,” Lawler said. “Including different disciplines and geographies makes this conference even more valuable to attendees.”
“It’s a unique opportunity for Carle and the continuing education world,” Charlie Hawknuff, MSN, Carle director of clinical education, said. “You won’t experience another conference like this.”
The theme of this year’s conference is “From Challenges to Connection: How Opportunities Become Innovation.” Presenters will examine challenges faced when providing world-class healthcare. When challenges are seen as opportunities, healthcare professionals can make connections to achieve innovation, Lawler said.
Thought leaders will present their insights on how to connect opportunities to innovative solutions, with the goal of inspiring everyday work. These insights can lead to improved experiences and outcomes for patients.
“This is an opportunity to connect with team members from across our organization and with colleagues from throughout our communities to spark conversation and innovation,” Lawler said.
