Food Services reducing food waste, making better use of resources

Carle Foundation Hospital is using Leanpath technology to weigh, classify and place a dollar value on food waste. Carle Health goals are to buy and prepare food that consumers want, meaning better use of resources and less food being trucked to the landfill. Just six months into the program, food waste at the hospital has declined by 37%.

Lung cancer screening, robotic-assisted bronchoscopy help a patient move swiftly through care

By the time a patient notices symptoms of lung cancer, it has already developed to later stages. Once a low-dose CT scan detects a nodule in the lung, Carle Health Methodist offers a less invasive biopsy for the patient. No-cost screenings are available Nov. 9 in Peoria and Pekin.
