Flu vaccines are encouraged for anyone six months and older, and those with underlying health conditions or compromised immune systems.
Flu vaccines are proven to prevent some cases of influenza and help shorten the duration and severity of others. If you have questions about whether the flu vaccine is a good option for you, talk to your primary care provider.
At Carle Health we encourage additional precautions by increasing hand washing and limiting contact with anyone displaying flu symptoms. We also will require a mask be worn at any of our walk-in flu shot clinics, unless medically unable to do so or children under the age of 2.
Carle Health recommends flu shots for all our patients and community members, no matter where you receive it. Flu shots will be available to anyone 6 months and older at Carle Health clinics unless otherwise specified. Nasal Flu Mist will not be available at any Carle Health location. High dose will be available for patients 65 and older, or as prescribed by your provider. *Patients can schedule an appointment with their primary care provider or visit their local pharmacy or health department to receive a flu shot.
Call our Flu Shot Hotline at (217)-326-5000 to learn about flu shot options available in your area.
Flu vaccines will also be available at the Carle Health Mobile Health Clinic during hours of operation. Visit the Mobile Health Clinic page to see a schedule of when the Mobile Health Clinic is coming to a location near you.
