A new, youth-focused, state-of-the-art behavioral health center for children and adolescents aged four to 17 – created to increase access to critical inpatient and outpatient mental health services – is now fully operational in West Peoria.
Trillium Place Young Minds Center, an affiliate of Carle Health, builds upon the strong legacy of service and investment in behavioral health care and services. With this facility, Carle Health continues to offer the highest standard of care and is creating a model of compassionate, patient-centered healing at a critical time in the mental health epidemic.

“Carle Health Methodist Hospital has always been a pioneer in behavioral health, and we are honored to continue that tradition by expanding our child adolescent services when many others are reducing or eliminating their services,” Mary Thompson, president of Trillium Place, said. “Every part of this project has considered how to support the child and their families as they face life’s challenges.”
Trillium Place Young Minds Center provides kids and their families with an environment specifically designed to support and address the behavioral health concerns that children and adolescents are facing today. Open spaces, calming colors, an abundance of natural light and plenty of outdoor spaces anchor its design.

counseling and psychiatry services, all staffed by experienced and compassionate care providers. Individuals receiving care have access to many types of therapy and activities including art therapy, recreation and more.

The vision and execution in opening Trillium Place Young Minds Center was made possible thanks to the immense generosity of local donors and philanthropic supporters, as well as unwavering support from local, state and clinical leadership at Carle Health and Trillium Place. Additionally, support from city and county governments and federal and state funding was pivotal in making this vision a reality for communities and families throughout Greater Peoria.
Carle Health Greater Peoria’s investment in behavioral health care dates back to 1954, when Methodist Medical Center opened its first inpatient mental health unit for adults. Specialized inpatient care has evolved over the years to serve adolescents beginning in 1988 and children as young as 4 years of age beginning in 1996. Today, Carle Health Greater Peoria proudly offers specialty mental health and addiction recovery services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings for children, teens adults and seniors.
