General Salary and Benefits

Salary Information 

  • First Year – $62,050 
  • Second Year – $64,135 
  • Third Year – $66,559 
  • Fourth Year – $69,366 
  • Fifth Year – $71,923 

Paid Time Off 
20 paid days off, with up to five conference or exam days. 

Wellness Time 
One half (1/2) day off per quarter to allow time for personal business such as doctor appointments, car maintenance, etc. 

Personal Holiday
Provides additional time off to those eligible for recognition of personal or religious celebrations or observances. 

Caregiver Leave
Up to six weeks of paid leave over the duration of the program for parental and/or caregiver leave; effective the first day of residency/fellowship. 

Food Allowance
No charge for meals when working. 

Education Stipend
Covers textbooks, board review materials, electronics (computer/tablet, software) (subject to payroll tax), medical equipment (stethoscope, loupes), step exams, boards (when paid prior to the end of program).

  • Residency PGY1 – $1,000 
  • Residency PGY2+ – $1,250 
  • Residency final PGY – $2,000 
  • Fellowship – $2,000 

Conference Presentation Allowance
Financial assistance for presenting/speaking at national/regional meetings is distributed at the discretion of the PD. 

Membership Dues
One membership dues paid per program at the discretion of the PD. 

Lab Coats
Two coats per year. 

Certifications

  • BLS, ACLS/PALS – Paid 
  • NRP – Paid as needed 
  • ATLS – Paid as needed 

Resettlement Allowance
$1,000 (subject to payroll tax). 

Health and Dental Plans
Residents, fellows and eligible family members qualify for health and dental coverage; effective the first day of residency or fellowship. Prescription plan is included with health plan. 

Life Insurance
Residents and fellows receive term life of $75,000. Supplemental and dependent life insurance is available for purchase. 

Voluntary Benefits
Various voluntary benefits are available for purchase. Some include: critical illness insurance, accident insurance, legal services, and short-term disability. 

Retirement Benefits
All residents and fellows are eligible to enroll in and contribute to a 403(b) plan via payroll deduction. 

Disability
Disability provided through contract as a salary guarantee through end of the contract year. 

Malpractice Insurance
Provided; includes tail insurance. 

Visa Fees
J1 and TN1 Visa holders receive reimbursement for visa fees.
