This labor education and preparation class is designed for patients giving birth at Carle Foundation Hospital to help prepare you for giving birth, and help navigate labor and delivery at CFH.
This in-person labor education and preparation class is 2 hours long and provides knowledge for childbirth. The class covers identifying true versus false labor, knowing who to call and when to call, and what to pack for the hospital. It also discusses parking information, visiting guidelines, and what to expect when you arrive at the hospital. The class reviews cervical exams, the stages and phases of labor, pushing positions, non-medication pain options for labor, and medication options for pain control. The class also covers what to expect should you be scheduled for an induction or a cesarean section.
